St Ives punt has typical west country lines, evolved from the demanding nature of the working environment.
Her high bow and freeboard take waves with ease and she rows like a dream. Her narrow beam makes for a sharp sailing experience slicing through the water with ease.
St Ives Punt
Beyond the simple beauty of her lines, the St Ives Punt is stable and flexible. She can carry 2 adults or an adult and 2 children. As a rowing boat she easily carries a young family (2 adults and 2 kids) with 2 rowing positions built in. Only drawing a few inches of water with the board up she is ideal for exploring estuaries and pulling up on banks and beaches.
The whole boat is simple to use and can be rigged in under 10 minutes. The custom sail provides excellent performance but given its size and the low centre of effort keeps heeling to a minimum in moderate wind conditions.
